MK-born football star Leah Williamson signs new contract with Arsenal

The Milton Keynes-born football star Leah Williamson has signed a new contract to stay with Arsenal.

Williamson, 29, signed a new deal in announcement by the Arsenal Women’s team earlier today (30/04), with the announcement coming a day after she scored in a 7-0 win over Leicester City in a Women’s Super League (WSL) match.

While Arsenal have not formally announced the length of Williamson’s new contract, multiple sources including the BBC have said Williamson signed a 2 year extension to her deal with the Gunners.

The new deal continues Williamson’s association with Arsenal. Having made her debut with the club in 2014, Williamson has made over 275 appearances for the club, with her trophy collection with Arsenal including a WSL, two Women’s FA Cups, 4 Women’s League Cups and a Women’s Champions League.

The defender has also become established with the England national team, winning 67 caps and being England captain for both their Women’s Euros title wins in 2022 and 2025. The defender will also be hoping to help the Lionesses qualify for next year’s Women’s World Cup, with England currently leading their qualifying group after 4 games.
