MK Dons have confirmed the departure of defender Nathan Thompson after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
The 35-year-old defender had spent a year with the Dons after joining from Stevenage in January 2025 but struggled for game time at Stadium MK, having suffered a major injury in just his second appearance for the club.
In a statement, MK Dons thanked Thompson for his time at the club and wished him the best for his future endeavours.
They said, “Nathan is extremely well thought of at Stadium MK, but it was agreed that the move was best for all parties.
“In his time in Milton Keynes, Nathan has conducted himself in an impeccable manner, acting as a role model for younger players and leading by example as a senior professional.
“He’s also taken an active interest in the club and the city as a whole, choosing to attend several business and networking events in collaboration with MK Dons and MKFM and representing the club brilliantly.
“Nathan and his family will always be welcome at Stadium MK. Everyone at Milton Keynes Dons wishes him the very best for the future.”
