Candidates have been announced today for the by-election taking place in West Northamptonshire Council’s Hackleton and Roade ward on Thursday, 7 May.
People living in the ward will be able to vote for a new councillor to represent their area, which includes Milton Malsor, Blisworth, Shutlanger, Stoke Bruerne, Ashton, Roade, Hartwell, Courteenhall, Quinton and Hackleton.
The candidates standing for the by-election are:
Maggie Clubley – The Conservative Party Candidate
Peter French – Labour and Co-operative Party
Ron Johnson – Independent
Dave Pearson – Green Party
Stephen Gordon Shellabear – Liberal Democrats
Laura Christine Weston – Reform UK

The deadline for Hackleton and Roade residents registering to vote is Monday 20 April. Postal vote applications need to be submitted by 5pm on Tuesday 21 April and the deadline to apply for a proxy vote (when someone votes on your behalf) is 5pm on Tuesday 28 April.
All residents planning to vote at polling stations on the day of the by-election are reminded that they need to bring photo ID to do so, such as a passport or driving licence, Alternatively they can also apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate online.
