Residents, carers and families across West Northamptonshire are being urged to attend a series of upcoming events and share their experiences of care and support, with sessions taking place over the coming days.
West Northamptonshire Council is developing a new Adult Social Care Strategy and wants to hear from as many people as possible. As part of this, a programme of “Big Conversation” events is taking place, giving people the opportunity to share their views, experiences and priorities in person.
The events are part of a wider engagement programme, alongside an online survey, to ensure that people who draw on care and support, along with family members and carers, are at the heart of future decision-making.
With events starting soon, residents are encouraged to attend a session in their area:
- Northampton North & East – Broadmead Church, NN3 2QY
29 June, 10am–12pm - Northampton Central – Doddridge Centre, NN5 5LD
29 June, 2pm–4pm - Northampton South & West – Duston Community Centre, NN5 6DT
1 July, 10am–12pm - Rural North & West – Daventry Leisure Centre, NN11 4FP
2 July, 10am–12pm - Rural South & East – The Riverside Centre, Towcester, NN12 6AU
2 July, 2pm–4pm
Unpaid carers can also take part in a dedicated online session via Microsoft Teams on Saturday 4 July 10am to 12pm. Join the meeting here.
For those who can’t attend events or just want to feedback online they can complete the Adult Social Care survey, which is open until 30 July 2026.
Cllr Laura Couse, Cabinet Member for Adult Care and Public Health at West Northamptonshire Council, said: “People’s experiences of care and support must shape how we deliver services in the future. We want to hear what is working well, what needs to improve, and what matters most to you.
“This is your opportunity to help us shape our future Adult Social Care services, and I would strongly encourage anyone with experience of Adult Social Care to take part and have their say.”
The Council is committed to making it as easy as possible for people to get involved. Support is available for those who may need help to take part, including alternative formats, help with travel, or speaking with groups in their own settings.
