Essential repair works will begin at St John’s Multi-Storey Car Park in Northampton from Monday 9 February, following a serious incident in 2024 in which a vehicle crashed into the car park wall.
The collision caused significant damage to the brickwork façade and an internal wall and resulted in injuries to pedestrians.
These works are necessary to repair the damage caused by the incident and to ensure the ongoing safety of car park users and the wider public.
During the repair period, the Level 4 entry will be closed for the duration of the works, while the Level 1 entry will remain open as usual. This will reduce parking availability and may lead to congestion in the surrounding area, particularly at peak times. Drivers are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance, allow extra time, and consider alternative parking options where possible.
