In Daventry, plans are moving forward to create a new town centre Best Start Family Hub, with the Council currently in the planning and design phase. Building work is expected to begin in around six months’ time, following procurement and detailed design decisions. The full construction timetable will be confirmed once contractors have been appointed.
The proposed new hub would be located in two available units at Mulberry Place, offering a more central and accessible location for families. The existing Daventry Family Hub on Staverton Road will continue to operate and provide services as usual until the new Hub is open.
The update is part of the Council’s wider Best Start in Life programme, which focuses on supporting children, young people and families at the earliest possible stage, improving access to services and helping communities thrive. More information on the Best Start in Life Plan and family hub developments in other areas will be shared as plans continue to be developed.
Cllr Michael Stratton, Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education at West Northamptonshire Council, said: “Our Best Start Family Hubs are designed to make life easier for families by bringing support services together in one place. While these projects take time to plan properly, it’s important that families are reassured that services will continue and that progress is being made. These hubs are a key part of our commitment to giving every child in West Northamptonshire the best start in life.”
