Families across West Northamptonshire are being encouraged to drop into a series of childhood vaccination information sessions taking place at Family Hubs throughout February half term.
Running from Monday 16 to Friday 20 February, the sessions will offer parents, carers and young people the chance to speak directly with a qualified clinical representative about routine childhood vaccinations. The aim is to help increase uptake across West Northants by offering clear, accessible guidance in a friendly, local setting.
While no vaccinations will be delivered on-site, staff will be available to explain what children and teenagers are eligible for, answer questions, and signpost families to local NHS services where vaccinations can be arranged.
Parents and families are invited to drop into one of the following sessions:
- Monday 16 February
1–5pm – Upton Meadows Family Hub, Barring Street, Northampton NN5 4DD - Tuesday 17 February
1–5pm – Towcester Family Hub, The Forum, Moat Lane, Towcester NN12 6AD - Wednesday 18 February

Vaccinations play a vital role in protecting children and young people from preventable illnesses. By offering these informal drop-in opportunities, West Northamptonshire Council aims to make it easier for families to access trusted information and feel confident in the decisions they make about their child’s health,
“Ensuring that children are up to date with their vaccines and protected from serious but preventable illnesses is one of the simplest and most effective ways we can support their long-term health. Vaccinations remain a vital defence against these illnesses, it is important that families feel confident in the choices they make. These sessions provide parents and carers with the opportunity to ask questions and get clear, reliable information from qualified healthcare professionals. If anyone is unsure, I would encourage them to drop in to their local Family Hub this half term.”Cllr Laura Couse, Cabinet Member for Adult Care and Public Health at West Northamptonshire Council
