Affray in Black Lion Hill, Northampton

Police officers are appealing for witnesses following an affray in Black Lion Hill, Northampton.

The incident happened between 8.30am and 9am on Thursday, May 19, when two males were involved in an altercation. One had a knife and the other had a plastic yellow wet floor sign and later a piece of wood.

During the incident the pair chased each other through Northampton Train Station towards Chalk Lane and Doddridge Street before the pair headed back towards the station.

The first male was black, aged mid to late teens, 5ft 7in, of a slim build with short-braided hair and was wearing a long black puffa coat, a black T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers. He was carrying a white and red towel.

The second male was black, aged mid to late teens, about 6ft of a slim build and was wearing a balaclava, a long-sleeved black top, a waist-length puffa jacket and black tracksuit bottoms.

Officers believe this area would have been busy at this time of the day with people and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any part of this incident or who may have captured the foot chase on dash-cam footage.

Witnesses or anyone with information which could assist the investigation are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

*A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
