Appeal for man who helped woman after sexual assault to come forward

A man who disturbed a serious sexual assault in Corby is being asked to come forward as he may have vital information which could assist detectives with their investigation.

Just after 1am on the morning of April 19, a woman was subjected to a serious sexual assault in an area of grassland referred to as “12 Arches” behind Haydock Close.  

The assault was disturbed when a man shouted “oi”. The suspect ran off and shortly afterwards so did the woman.

Detectives are appealing to trace the man who disturbed the assault and are also asking anyone else who may have information about what happened to contact them.

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact Northamptonshire Police on 101 or if you would prefer to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 55511.

Police patrols are taking place in the area of Corby today to reassure the community. Anyone in the local area with any concerns is encouraged to approach one of our officers who will be more than happy to help.
