Harpole burglar jailed for two years and six months

A 23-year-old man has been jailed for two years and six months after being convicted of a burglary in Harpole.

On July 1, 2021, a homeowner in Manor Close woke to find that his house had been broken into with his Skoda Octavia car stolen off the drive.

The culprit was Kyle Lee Ainsley, of Pettits Place, Dagenham, who had made his way into the property via a bathroom window and once inside had stolen the car keys as well as a wallet.

An investigation was launched with multiple enquiries encompassing house-to-house visits, the collection of CCTV and the analysis of forensic evidence. Once pieced together, the evidence led the officers to East London and Ainsley, who was arrested and swiftly charged in connection with the offence.

On April 21 this year at Northampton Crown Court, he was handed a two year and six month prison sentence.

Police Staff Investigator – Terry Rush, said: “I’m really pleased that Ainsley has gone to prison for this offence as it shows that crime, and more specifically burglary, doesn’t pay.

“Being burgled is a hugely invasive incident that leaves people feeling anxious and unsafe in their homes. That’s why we put such an emphasis on it here at Northamptonshire Police and why we will keeping working hard to put people like Kyle Ainsley behind bars.”
