Man and woman jailed for a total of four years and two months for Harpole burglary

A man and a woman have been jailed for a total of four years and two months after being convicted of burglary at Northampton Crown Court.

Lea Sabin, 48, of Tamar Square, Daventry and Vicki Fox, 39, of Sir John Pasco Way, Northampton, were sentenced yesterday, after pleading guilty to burglary and other offences.

Sabin was sentenced to 30 months in prison for the offences of burglary, possession of a knife and theft. Fox was given a 20 month custodial sentence for burglary.

The crimes took place in the early hours of April 5, 2022, when Sabin and Fox broke into a house in Harpole. Neighbours became aware of the break in and call the police. When officers attended, the two were found in a field behind the house, in possession of a number of items taken from the property.

Lead investigator, PC Mark Edkins from the Burglary Team, said: “Sabin and Fox decided to break into an empty home during the hours of darkness in an isolated village and then help themselves to personal possessions.

“Thanks to the quick thinking of neighbours, police were called and caught them both fleeing from the scene. They had the nerve to even deny the offence when caught red-handed with items taken from the house.

“Breaking into someone’s home, whether empty or not, is a despicable crime, and we are committed to continuing to drive down burglary and bring those involved to justice.”
