Woman arrested following drugs warrant in Deanshanger

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs following the execution of two warrants in South Northamptonshire.

Officers from the Daventry and South Northamptonshire Neighbourhood Policing Teams executed the warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act at two addresses in Deanshanger and Paulersbury on Wednesday, July 27.

The warrants were carried as a direct result of community intelligence and reports from members of the public who were concerned about drug-related issues in their area.

A 61-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs at the Deanshanger address. She has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

PC Josh Ellard, of the South Northamptonshire Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Tackling and preventing drug harm is a matter of priority for the Force and we will continue to act on the concerns of our communities to disrupt activities.

“This is another prime example of how we can work together with our partners and communities to tackle the issues affecting their local area and I would urge the community to keep reporting suspicious activity to us.

In May, Chief Constable Nick Adderley launched the Force’s Matters of Priority for the next three years, and along with serious violence, serious and organised crime, violence against women and girls, drug harm was included.
