Northamptonshire Libraries launch ‘Go All In’ for National Year of Reading 2026

Northamptonshire Libraries have launched a new county-wide campaign to celebrate the National Year of Reading 2026 - a year dedicated to helping people of all ages explore their interests, hobbies, creativity, and passions through reading.

Whether you’re an avid reader, rediscovering your love of books, or enjoy learning through hands-on activities, your local library is ready to support you. And if visiting in person isn’t possible, the ‘Library To You’ service brings the library straight into your community.

Throughout 2026, Go All In will see Northamptonshire Libraries host a mix of events including workshops, clubs, displays, reading recommendations, and community connections - all designed to show that reading isn’t just something you do in a book, it’s a gateway to everything you love.

The message for the year is simple - if you’re into it, you can read into it. From gardening to gaming, local history to live music, crafting to climate activism, fashion to Formula One, your library can help you dive deeper into whatever inspires you. Activities will include:

  • Reading for pleasure in all its forms
  • Workshops and demonstrations by local experts, makers, and enthusiasts
  • Volunteer opportunities and ways to connect with your community
  • Free digital and physical resources to help people learn, create, explore, and enjoy
Our libraries are more than just places to borrow books - they are hubs where curiosity thrives, skills develop, friendships form, and passions take root.
The National Year of Reading is a fantastic opportunity for everyone in Northamptonshire to Go All In, discover new interests, and connect with others who share their passions.
This campaign is about celebrating all the ways people learn, discover, explore, and connect. Reading sits at the heart of this, but it’s also about curiosity, conversation, inspiration, and community. I encourage everyone to get involved and see what your local library has to offer.Cllr James Petter, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Local Economy, Culture and Leisure at WNC

As part of the year-long celebrations, libraries are keen to collaborate with community groups and organisations, including:

  • Local clubs, and societies
  • Artists, makers, performers, and creative practitioners
  • Sports organisations and hobby groups
  • Heritage organisations and community volunteers
  • Businesses and charities with community goals

If you would like to co-host an event, run an activity, provide a demonstration or share your knowledge with the community, we'd love to hear from you – please contact [email protected]. For more information and to discover what’s happening at your local branch, visit the WNC website.
