Join Jules and Mark as they talk about a very important topic that often goes unaddressed: men's mental health. As we approach International Men's Day on November 19th, it's the perfect time to encourage men and boys to open up about their feelings and seek the support they may need.
Throughout history, society has placed unrealistic expectations on men, reinforcing the notion that showing vulnerability is a sign of weakness. But, here's the thing, it's absolutely OK not to be OK. We all experience highs and lows, and mental well-being is just as important as physical well-being.
Mark also experienced many issues with mental health following his brain injury. He and Jules found it difficult to cope with the hidden side effects of such a traumatic injury. You can find out more about their brand new project, Brain or Shine which is designed to help those affected by brain injury. Go to the website www.brainorshine.com for more details.
