Partners support communities across Northamptonshire during ASB Awareness Week

Partners across Northamptonshire have celebrated a successful Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Awareness Week 2026, delivering a range of engagement, education and enforcement activities to support safer communities.

West Northamptonshire Council (WNC), North Northamptonshire Council (NNC), Northamptonshire Partnership Homes (NPH), Northamptonshire Police and Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service worked together throughout the week to encourage residents to report concerns, access support and engage with local services.

Residents had the opportunity to meet officers and community safety professionals through Beat Bus visits, community surgeries, walking engagement events, community cafés and Family Hub sessions held across the county, including in Daventry, Towcester, Northampton, Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough.

A highlight of the week was the County Schools Challenge Final, which focused on tackling anti-social behaviour through youth-led solutions. Kettering Buccleuch Academy was named the winning school, with a number of ideas now being considered by partners for future development.

Police and Fire Cadets also helped raise awareness by distributing more than 750 leaflets across communities in Towcester, Kettering and Northampton, promoting reporting routes and encouraging residents to seek support.

The week also showcased the Northampton Town Anti-Social Behaviour Reporting Scheme (NTARS), a BID-funded initiative that helps residents and businesses in the town centre share intelligence relating to anti-social behaviour and low-level crime. 

Engagement activity generated positive feedback from both businesses and residents and helped partners gather valuable information about local concerns.

Alongside community engagement, partners carried out targeted enforcement activity. In Daventry, WNC, PA Housing and Northamptonshire Police worked together to address reports of anti-social behaviour, criminal damage and concerns relating to squatters in Ericson Close, providing reassurance to residents and taking action to resolve issues affecting the neighbourhood.

A separate operation in Daventry targeted the illegal use of e-scooters following reports from residents. One e-scooter was seized, while several individuals received advice on safe and lawful use.

The week reinforced the strong partnership approach to tackling anti-social behaviour across Northamptonshire, with agencies continuing to build on the relationships and community engagement established through the programme.
