Witnesses are being sought after an electric scooter rider was seriously injured in an accident on Edgar Mobbs Way, Northampton.
At about 10.15pm last night, a silver Renault Clio, for unknown reasons, crossed the carriageway after the roundabout junction and collided with a Toucan crossing.
The Toucan crossing post struck the rider of the e-scooter on the head, who was waiting to cross, causing serious injuries. He was taken to University Hospital Coventry.
Three passengers in the car – a man in his 20s and two women in their late teens – sustained minor injuries. The driver – a woman in her late teens – was uninjured.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have captured the collision or the car travelling along Walter Tull Way on dash-cam footage.
