The Sounds of the Sixties will come swinging back into Northampton town centre on the new date of Saturday 24 September as part of a magical mystery tour celebrating music, culture and memories from the iconic decade.
Top tribute act The Counterfeit Beatles will headline the main stage in Market Square as part of the event, while local bands will also be performing classic tracks throughout the day and Bernie Keith will treat crowds to an hour-long DJ set.
The town centre will be transported back to the 60s, with vintage street circus acts performing throughout the main shopping streets.

A display of local sporting memorabilia and posters from the decade will be on show in the windows of the lower mall, next to River Island.
The centre will also be playing 60s music throughout the day.

Back to the 60’s Quiz- As our town builds up to a righteous 60’s Celebration on the 10th September, we thought to join in the fun by bringing you our own 60’s Quiz! Test your knowledge of the groovy decade by visiting Northampton Central Library for a chance to win a voucher for Vintage Guru on St Giles Street. At Vintage Guru, where we celebrate past fashion and lifestyles every day, we are very excited about the sixties week. We will be creating some special 60s windows for the event and will have clothes and experts on hand to help people ‘dress the decade’. Visitors to the shop will be able to buy items that were popular in the 60s and we will be playing fab and groovy 60s music all week with lots of Beatles items for sale.
West Northamptonshire Council will be providing all-day free parking in the council owned town centre multi-storey car parks on the day.
