“Life Lines”, an exciting exhibition exploring life, growth and human connection and showcasing the works of celebrated local sculptor Nicolas Moreton, is now available to see at Northampton Museum and Art Gallery.
Based in rural Northamptonshire and an elected member of the Royal Society of Sculptors, Nicolas has been intriguing, provoking, and delighting audiences for nearly forty years.
Through his sculptures, Nicolas draws attention to what connects us all - fertility, growth, and the wonder of life. The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the vital forces of blood and water, which flow through us and around us. These essential elements, often unseen, sustain and regenerate life, creating a sense of well-being and harmony.
Through his carved figurative and abstract forms, Nicolas captures textures, marks, and rhythms that encourage viewers to pause and contemplate the forces that make us human and our deep connection to the natural world.
This exhibition is a wonderful celebration of life in all its forms and provides a chance for everyone in the community to engage with art that inspires reflection, wonder, and a deeper connection to the world around us.Cllr James Petter, WNC’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Local Economy, Culture and Leisure
The exhibition runs from Saturday 17 January to Sunday 22 March at Northampton Museum and Art Gallery, Guildhall Road, Northampton. Opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm, and Sunday, 12pm to 5pm.
All works on display are available for purchase.
