Passengers across West Northamptonshire will now find it easier to plan their journeys, as the Council rolls out around 180 new electronic information screens at bus stops throughout the area.

The new screens will provide live timetable updates, service information and important travel alerts. This will help passengers stay informed and make confident decisions about their journeys.
West Northamptonshire Council is delivering the project as part of its Bus Service Improvement Plan. The work is fully funded by the Department for Transport, meaning there is no additional cost to local taxpayers.
The displays also include audio features to support passengers with visual impairments, helping to make bus travel more accessible for everyone.
This investment forms part of a wider programme to improve bus services across the area. Other upgrades include the addition of 54 electric buses to the Stagecoach fleet, improved shelters, better lighting, enhancements to accessibility and clearer road markings along key routes.
Together, these improvements aim to make travelling by bus more reliable, comfortable and easier to use. The Council hopes the changes will encourage more people to choose public transport and support greener travel choices.
Councillor Richard Butler, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, said: "This is a really positive step for people who use buses across West Northamptonshire.
“Having clear, real time information at bus stops makes a big difference and helps people feel more confident about planning their journeys. It also makes using the bus a more straightforward and appealing option.
"Government funding has made it possible for us to bring these improvements to local communities, as part of our wider drive to improve the public transport network.”
