A programme of activities will take place across Northamptonshire from Monday 29 June to Sunday 5 July as partners come together to support Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Awareness Week 2026.
The national campaign unites councils, police, fire services, housing providers and community organisations to shine a spotlight on anti-social behaviour, its impact on victims and the importance of reporting incidents.
West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) is working in partnership with North Northamptonshire Council (NNC), Northamptonshire Police, Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service, Northamptonshire Partnership Homes (NPH), Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Danielle Stone’s Immediate Justice team and local organisations to deliver a coordinated week of engagement and awareness activity.
This includes a range of drop-in sessions, outreach and partnership events designed to engage directly with residents. Members of the councils’ ASB teams, local Neighbourhood Policing Teams and housing officers will be available at community café sessions in areas such as Briar Hill and Blackthorn, offering advice and guidance, particularly around issues such as graffiti and fly-tipping. These informal sessions give residents the opportunity to speak directly with officers and partners, access practical support and raise concerns in a friendly, accessible setting without the need to book an appointment.
The week will include a wide range of events, including:
- Monday 29 June: cadet leaflet drops will take place in Towcester targeting hotspot and low-reporting areas. North Northants Safer Communities Team will also be in Corby town centre from 10am to 2pm and the County Schools Challenge Final will take place at Castle Theatre in Wellingborough in the evening.
- Tuesday 30 June: an ASB engagement event will be held at the Grosvenor Centre in Northampton from 2pm, bringing together businesses and partners to promote reporting tools and support. The Beat Bus will also be in Northampton Market Square, with additional cadet leaflet drops in Kettering and neighbourhood policing engagement in town centres. In Daventry town centre, a range of partners will carry out ASB and e-scooter awareness activity, including issuing warnings where appropriate.
- Wednesday 1 July: activity will focus on promoting ASB reporting platforms, supported by policing team deployment to engage with residents in hotspot areas. The North Northants Safer Communities Team will also be in Desborough centre from 10am to 2pm, with a walking surgery with PCSOs and ASB teams also taking place in Eastfield Park in Northampton from 4pm to 6pm.
- Thursday 2 July: community café drop-ins will take place in Briar Hill from 10am to 12pm, alongside further community engagement and cadet leaflet drops in Northampton. A multi-agency ASB community drop-in will also be held at Daventry Family Hub from 9am to 1pm, with a range of partners available to support residents
- Friday 3 July: additional community café drop-ins will be held in Blackthorn from 10am to 12pm, with continued partner engagement across the area.
- Saturday 4 July: a young people’s summer safety event will take place in Northampton Market Square from 10.30am to 3pm, alongside youth-led social media activity from cadets.
- Sunday 5 July: partners will continue to promote ASB awareness messaging and reflect on the week’s activity through communications channels.
Cadets and officers will also be actively involved in outreach work, including leaflet drops in identified hotspot and low-reporting areas across Towcester, Northampton, Kettering, and Wellingborough, as well as evening engagement activity to speak with residents and raise awareness of reporting processes. Additional partnership activity will include neighbourhood policing engagement in town centres, community surgeries with police officers in Corby and Desborough, and collaborative work with partners to highlight ASB reporting platforms and encourage community action.
The Ashby Road underpass in Daventry will also be transformed through a community street art project led by local artist Binty Bint and Parker E-ACT students, turning the space into a colourful, welcoming environment that builds pride, reduces vandalism and helps prevent graffiti anti-social behaviour. Before the artwork begins, the Commissioner’s Immediate Justice team will be on site working with offenders to clean and prepare the space ready for the transformation.
Cllr Charlie Hastie, Deputy Leader of WNC and Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities, said: “Anti-social behaviour can have a significant and lasting impact on individuals, families and communities, and it is vital that we continue to tackle these issues collaboratively.
“ASB Awareness Week provides an important opportunity to raise awareness, speak directly with residents and ensure people know how to report incidents and access support. By working with our partners, we are helping to make our communities safer and ensuring that no one feels they have to deal with anti-social and nuisance behaviour alone.”
This joint programme of activity reflects the strong partnership approach across West Northamptonshire, building on ongoing work to reduce anti-social behaviour, support victims and create safer, more resilient communities. Residents are encouraged to get involved, attend local events and speak to officers and partner organisations to find out more about the support available.
Cllr Gregory Wilcox, North Northamptonshire's Executive Member for Housing, said: “Residents in North Northamptonshire have shared concerns with me about crime and anti-social behaviour in the area and it's fantastic that we have this opportunity to celebrate the work that both councils, police, fire services, housing providers and community organisations are doing to come together to shine a spotlight on anti-social behaviour, its impact on victims and the importance of reporting incidents.
"Together we are committed to making our county a safer and better place to live and that's what we shall do!"
Victoria Wright, Tenancy Compliance Manager at NPH, said: “ASB Awareness Week gives us a welcome chance to engage with local communities and our residents, to discuss the issues impacting them.
“We want people to know how to report these issues and advise them on what support is available. It also provides a valuable opportunity for us to work alongside our partner services, ensuring a successful collaborative approach is maintained. I would strongly encourage anyone affected by ASB to report it, by doing so, you enable us to step in, provide the right advice and support, and work towards resolving the issue effectively.”
Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Danielle Stone said: “Anti-social behaviour is a massive focus for us all - it’s something that residents regularly raise as an issue that matters to them.
“There is a fantastic programme of work going on to tackle anti-social behaviour. My Immediate Justice team will be joining the project to help transform the Ashby Road underpass into a safer and more welcoming place.
“My teams will also be out and about during the week in schools and communities, alongside other partners, to do all we can to tackle anti-social behaviour and reduce its impact on communities.”
