Police are looking for witnesses after two teenage boys were assaulted by the war memorial on Daniels Road in Little Irchester.
A group of young men assaulted a 14-year-old on 11th February, with another 13-year-old boy being chased and punched in the face after trying to intervene. The group continued the assault on the 14-year-old even after he had fallen to the ground.
The group is said to have consisted of 10 boys in tracksuits, aged 14 and 15. One 15 year old has already been arrested in connection to this incident and is currently released on police bail, whilst a 14 year old boy has been voluntarily interviewed.
It is believed the incident had initially started by the A509 near the embankment, with the assault taking place between 4:30pm and 5:30pm.
Police are asking any witnesses to come forward to help identify the offenders. Anyone who may have any information regarding this incident is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101, or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
