A pair of brothers have been sentenced for a County Lines drug dealing conspiracy in Northampton.
Tyrrell and Raheem Restal, 21 and 22 respectively, were suspected of dealing Class A drugs in the town for a number of months as members of a County Line.
Further investigation and working in partnership with the Metropolitan Police, officers discovered that the Class A drugs were laced with a synthetic opioid called Isotonitazene which has been associated with a number of deaths in the county.
Raheem and Tyrrell were arrested and approximately £124,000 worth of Class A drugs were seized at an address in Kingsthorpe Grove. Following a thorough search of the properties, a large quantity of cash, mobile phones and designer goods were also found and seized by police.
The brothers were both charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and pleaded guilty to the offences at Northampton Crown Court on May 23 and June 20 respectively. At the same court last Friday, Tyrrell was sentenced to six years and six months in prison and Raheem to five years and eight months in prison.
Lead Investigator – Detective Sergeant Megan Scotney, said: “Like so many drug dealers, the Restal brothers believed they were above the law and that we’d never catch up with them.
“This couldn’t have been further from the truth. We know a lot more about drug dealers than they like to think and will always be working hard, one step at a time, to bring them to justice.
“Tackling drug harm is a matter of priority for Northamptonshire Police so I am really pleased that in this case we have taken two drug dealers off the streets who will now pay for their crimes."
