MK Dons were beaten by Blackpool as they lost 2-0 away at Bloomfield Road in their midweek match.
Second half goals by Karoy Anderson and Dale Taylor saw the Seasiders pick up a first win in seven matches, while MK Dons slumped to a reverse in their first game after beating Luton to get their first win of the season last weekend.
Having got their first win of the campaign by beating Luton last time out, MK Dons had arrived on the Lancashire coast with an unchanged starting line-up against an out-of-sorts Blackpool.
In the first half, the Dons had opportunities, with Aaron Collins missing the target, Ibrahim Fullah seeing an effort deflected wide and Sam Silvera’s driving run saw his ball into the box cannon off Elijah Campbell and bounce wide.
Blackpool improved as the first half went on, with Will Dennis in the MK Dons goal called into action to deny Ilmari Niskanen and George Honeyman.
Alex Gilbey had an effort denied by home keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell in the last minutes of the first half, while Collins would again miss the target just after the half-time break.
The deadline was broken in the 69th minute, and it would be Blackpool skipper Anderson with the breakthrough moment as his angled cross-shot deceived Dennis and found the back of the net.
It would become 2-0 in the 78th minute when Taylor forced the ball over the line after MK Dons failed to clear the home side’s corner.
Sam Nombe would have a strike saved by Peacock-Farrell in the late stages, but the visitors’ comeback attempts fell short as they left Bloomfield Road with no points added to their total.
MK Dons’ push for a first away win of the season will take them to Stevenage on Saturday in their next assignment.
