Robbery in Sheep Street, Northampton

Police officers are appealing for a good Samaritan who came to the aid of a man who had been robbed in Sheep Street, to contact them.

Between 2pm and 3pm on Wednesday, September 28, a man in his 40s got off a bus at North Gate and walked down Sheep Street. As he approached the church, he was assaulted from behind causing him to get knocked out.

When the man regained consciousness, an unknown man helped him, taking him to the chemist and then back home. Later in the evening, the man sought medical assistance for his injuries and reported that he had been robbed.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, and in particularly the man who stopped to help the victim. He is asked to contact them as a matter of urgency.
