Happy New Year! We’re back with our first episode of 2023 in conversation with the UK’s youngest Black Professor, Jason Arday, Professor of Sociology of Education at the University of Glasgow. This is a special episode for the network as it was our first LIVE podcast with an in-person audience as we hosted a JADE Conversation (Justice, Anti-Racism against Discrimination and the fight for its Elimination) with the GEM Staff Network.
This fascinating conversation covers Jason’s journey into academia, having been diagnosed with Global Developmental Delay Autism when he was 3 and learning to read and write at aged 18. Jason’s inspirational approach to setting boundaries and maintaining his integrity throughout his life choices made this conversation powerful, impactful and thought provoking and we were really pleased that Jason agreed to take part.
